X-Solutions was acquired in June 2009 by Nuance, a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions for businesses and consumers. Nuance has long been a partner for Xerox, providing the leading MFP desktop-based scanning solution within Xerox (Scan to PC Desktop). And as you know, X-Solutions has also been a partner for Xerox, providing one of the leading MFP server-based scanning solution within Xerox with ScanFlowStore.

By combining these desktop- and server-based MFP solutions, Nuance can now provide you, Xerox and your customers with the ability to achieve total electronic document control through the use of a Xerox MFP.

With this new point release of ScanFlowStore, it is now possible to directly integrate the ScanFlowStore and Scan to PC Desktop solutions. This means that your Xerox customers can now access ScanFlowStore functionality directly from their PaperPort desktop.

For example: A customer utilizes the ScanFlowStore InterActive client to scan paper documents into SharePoint with 3 additional metadata questions to determine the final storage destination. This exact same process is now possible with digital documents on a PC using Scan to PC Desktop Professional. Simply drag a document within the PaperPort desktop to the ScanFlowStore icon on the PaperPort Send To bar and a screen will popup which offers the user the same workflow options as the Interactive client on the Xerox MFP.

Other changes within this new point release for ScanFlowStore include:

Convert scanned documents directly to Microsoft Word and Excel from a Xerox MFP
Scanning to editable formats directly from the Xerox MFP is increasingly important for many companies. When paper documents need to be retyped, the ability to simply scan and convert the document directly to an editable format like Microsoft Word offers real productivity savings for your Xerox customers. Simply download the latest version of ScanFlowStore and demonstrate to your customers how simple scanning to editable formats can be with ScanFlowStore.

More complete browsing through Microsoft SharePoint
As many organizations use Xerox and ScanFlowStore to scan directly to Microsoft SharePoint, we have used the customer feedback gathered to improve the SharePoint connector. It is now possible is to access the whole SharePoint site from the Xerox MFP through ScanFlowStore.

PID Authentication through Active Directory
Personalized scanning is also a growing requirement for organizations. This increases efficiency and also security. Within ScanFlowStore, it was already possible to allocate a PID code to each user on the ScanFlowStore server. With this update it is also possible to manage these PID’s (Personal ID) from Active Directory. This makes maintenance and changes much easier to coordinate for IT management.

These are some of the new features added to the existing power of ScanFlowStore in terms of easy and intuitive scanning on a Xerox MFP. Important process changes

New ScanFlowStore trials now last for 45 days and the process to obtain a trial license has also been improved. To request a 45 day trial, please go to www.scanflowstore.com/registration and select "Register Trial". If it is your first time requesting a ScanFlowStore trial, an approval is completed by Nuance within 12 hours and the access to the Nuance Network will be e mailed directly to you. Once you have the Nuance Network account access, you can obtain additional ScanFlowStore trials anytime after that initial point simply by logging in to the Nuance Network.

Xerox WorkCentre 7700 series supported by ScanFlowStore InterActive client
The newest Xerox EIP enable device is allready supported by ScanFlowStore. This means that ScanFlowStore support the Xerox WorkCentre 7755/ 7765 /7765 both with Network Scanning and the InterActive client. The availability and launch date might differ per region worldwide.

Now everyone can enjoy brilliant color printing for an exceptionally low price with the new Xerox ColorQube 9201/9202/9203.

Y Soft's SafeQ and ScanFlowStore are a powerful combination, giving users a personalized scan experience at the Xerox MFP.

A user simply logs on to the device by using card identification to get access to personal scan destinations, such as their email address or home directory. The machine authenticates the user and sends the user information to ScanFlowStore. Because ScanFlowStore knows the user information,it’s not necessary to enter an email address or define a home directory. Additionally, it is possible to define user groups. This means that people can also see the scan templates they have access to through their user group. With this functionality it’s easy to define which user is allowed to scan which type of documents.

With ScanFlowStore it’s possible to scan directly into SmartSearch. ScanFlowStore ensures that the document is stored in the proper Document Archive as a text searchable file, allowing you to easily retrieve your document by a simple search within SmartSearch.

With ScanFlowStore you have the ability to work with meta data, which is information that can be entered on the Xerox user interface and will accompany the scanned document. Meta data can be used for storing and/or categorizing the scanned document. ScanFlowStore is able to scan a document directly into the correct Document Archive within SmartSearch. Within the Document Archive, subfolders can be created based on meta data to ensure proper filing of your document. In addition, you can use meta data to populate the filename and file properties of the document.

Suppose your office has incoming documents on a daily basis, such as:

All 14 of these verticals are embedded in ScanFlowStore. Which means, that when ScanFlowStore is installed a vertical can be selected to archive a predefined setup. ScanFlowStore will offer preconfigured scan templates that are defined per vertical market. This new vertical market approach within ScanFlowStore is based completely on document types.
